President's Letter

 

Dear Community Members:

As the President of the Foundation, it is both an honor and a privilege to share our mission and progress with you. Our organization is dedicated to supporting the Pasadena Police Department in its essential work of fostering positive relationships within our community and guiding our youth towards a hopeful and promising future.

Through our support to dedicated programs at the department—the Kids Safety Academy, Junior Public Safety Academy, Explorer Program, and K-9 Unit—we strive to make a meaningful impact. Each of these initiatives plays a crucial role in our mission to support the planning, development, and implementation of programs and activities of the Department. This year, we are excited to continue our efforts in these areas while also introducing the new PPD Wellness Program. Your support is vital as we raise funds to sustain and expand these invaluable programs.

The Kids Safety Academy and Explorer Program are cornerstones of our youth outreach. The Explorer Program, specifically designed for young individuals aged 14-21 who are interested in a career in law enforcement, currently engages over 40 participants in activities that enhance civic engagement, public service, and leadership skills. Additionally, we are proud to support Camp Pasadena, where youth attend a summer camp, where PPD officers and staff act as counselors, aiding youth in gaining essential life skills and the potential to explore careers in law enforcement.

Your generosity is crucial in helping us fund these programs. Each contribution helps us build a stronger, more connected community where young people can thrive and explore their potential.
